Attention all NHS MSK Physio's:

Looking for a new challenge? Feeling frustrated, overworked and undervalued?

Dear Physiotherapist,

If you love treating patients, love being an MSK physio and would like more time with your clients have you ever considered moving into private practice? I know you care about your patients, I know you love to learn and feel supported at work, but would you want to have all that and be able to provide more hands on treatment combined with graded progressions all the way through to the end stage of your patients rehab before progressing onto injury prevention work?  Do you think you would enjoy working with clients who actually do their rehab exercises?

If this even peaked your interest a little then I believe you should, at the very least, consider private practice.  I know it's not the most common career path, I understand you probably don't know many physio's in the private sector and you may not be entirely sure what's involved.  That's exactly why I believe you need to read this.  Simply to allow yourself the option to consider it, so that you can decide, so that you have the choice as to where you want to apply your knowledge and care, and to what type of patient group.

After all is it such a bad idea to consider moving into private practice?

Meet the Owner

Steven McLean

I am the founder and owner of Optimal Physio. I worked in the NHS and understand its value to society, I loved my time there but moving to the private sector in 2010 has fuelled my passion for physiotherapy and the impact it has on transforming peoples quality of life.

I opened my second clinic in 2015 in Largs and then moved our original clinic from Newton Mearns to Clarkston in 2021.

We have grown through the pandemic and now have a team of 10 people (3 admin and 7 clinical team members) delivering exceptional care across both sites.

We are on a mission to help 5,000 local people improve their health and wellbeing, will you join us?
